I've been using boar bristle brushes and I have to say, I much prefer the silicone! I always had a problem with the bristles becoming hard and stuck together, and oily/greasy after being washed. This is no longer a problem! The handle comes off, so I can put the brush portion in the silverware cage in my dishwasher.

I purchased 3 of these brushes and I have to admit that I was surprised at how short the handle is. It is still a great value for the price and I have already put them to use. Even though the handle is short, the brushes work great. Color coding them for different uses is also a plus.

I was sick of using regular basting brushes as they would become sticky and hard over time. So I bought these as they are washable and remain soft use after use. I use them for brushing oil, egg whites etc on my baking adventures and it works great. I wash them in dishwasher. And they are as good as new. Highly recommend it!
