I bought a silicone pastry brush on the recommendation of a friend who was tired of hearing me complain about standard pastry brushes losing their bristles after a while. This one won't lose its bristles, but it doesn't hold the liquid quite well, so I find myself having to dip it more often when brushing the tops of my breads, rolls or pies to get a nice sheen. My friend was correct, however, in that this will not take up shedding on me.

I bought this brush primarily for baking and occasionally basting chicken. I have had bad experiences with the traditional pastry brushes before (hair shedding, etc) so I was excited to try a silicone one. I like how the silicone can still retain enough liquid for brushing, yet it is silicone, so the bristles do not fall apart as easily as hair. It is also 10x easier to wash and dry than a traditional pastry brush. I would definitely recommend!

It is exactly as pictured... and a nice feature is that the brush head detaches for cleaning, but not so easily as to come off whilst using it.
