Silicone Brushes are the new style now. So I decided to upgrade to silicone to see how it works. I wanted a basic basting brush nothing fancy and reasonably priced. I ordered the pastry brush by accident, not really thinking there was a difference. Well it has finer brush ends for those delicate pastry items. It should work for basic basting and I am going to try it. Worst case I have to order the "basting" version as well with a bit thicker brush ends.Unlike other ones I looked at this one is all one unit, no removable brush head like the others, so no worries about it falling off and losing it in the drawer.

This is such an improvement over the old style pastry brush that gunked up when washed. This comes clean in the dishwasher and holds plenty of whatever you are brushing on to pastry, bread, etc.

I love this silicone brush...I use this all the time for making waffles, to oil the waffler in between each one so they don't stick. Only a silicone brush will work for this because the waffler is quite hot after the first one, and other brushes can't take the heat! It's easy to wash, and comes out squeaky clean from the dishwasher.
