Item Info

Great idea to have one tart tamper, with two differently sized ends. Place a small amount of dough in the tart tin, dust end of the tamper with flour , push dough down, turning Tamper slightly and you have a nice tart dough shell. Also indent your burgers to keep them from doming up while grilling.

Factor Benefits

  • Smaller end 1-1/4-inch, bigger end 1-3/4-inch
  • Tamper is approx. 6-inch tall
  • Made of rubberwood
  • Hand wash and dry thoroughly
  • Nice addition to any kitchen

I have only just received this tamper today and have not used it. However, the picture of this on Amazon shows it in the process of tamping dough in a tart tin, thus concealing the fact that the large end, like the visible smaller end, is only 3/8" thick. Being this thin prevents one from kinda rolling the tamper diagonally to squish the sides of the dough to the sides of the tart tin or muffin panFox Run Wooden Tart Tamper with Different Diameter Ends.I wish I had purchased the one from ChefGadget. It's base appears to be between 1/2" and 3/4" thick. The only reason I didn't was because Prime wasn't offered on it which made it quite a bit more expensive. Had I been able to compare the bottoms (i.e. the larger end's thickness of this and the Chefgadget) I wouldn't have wasted my money on the Fox Run Tamper. I realize Amazon didn't create the picture, but used the one provided by the manufacturer. Thank you, Amazon, for your great return policy.

Okay for the money.

This is larger and has a sharper edge than others I have seen. I had to sand the edges down to fit my standard mini-cupcake tin. Not comparable to the ones we see at those popular kitchenware home parties.

Buy this if you want wood splinters in your tarts!

I expected a dough tamper to have smooth ends however the one I received has rough ends that splinters when touching it. This can't be used on food.
