Bought three sets and now my blind baked crusts are nicer.Wash them well before use! Get a canister to keep them dry and ready for use.

I had originally ordered 2 bags of these pie beads so I could blind bake 2 8-inch deep dish pies at the same time. I found out quickly that a third bag would be required to fill the pies crusts fully, and keep the crust from pillowing away from the pie dish. Before I "discovered" blind baking I typically had issues with my pie crusts, typically with apple or fruit based pies, coming out too soft and under-done. Increasing the time spent backing lead to bruned crusts, so after a little research came blind baking. These beads, combined with a pair of Norpro silicone pie shields, have lead to just the right done-ness of my pie crusts. I'd highly recommend picking up three bags if you intend to cook two pies at a time (2 bags if you plan to cook only one).

Make sure you use wax impeachment paper under them , so you can lift them right out. This is a wonderful product and works well.
