I tried one of the thicker, blade cutter style pastry blenders, but those are really for heavier doughs. For the lightweight stuff I do (streusel, etc.), this style works better because it doesn't clog up as readily, and is much easier to swipe clean.Inexpensive, but I was surprised how hard it was to find these locally. I avoid big box stores like Wal-Mart and Target, so it was much easier to just order it on-line and get Prime's free delivery.

I have used several different style pastry blenders(cutters) but this tried and true design is the best for cutting shortening into flour or making that crumbly streusel . Easy to clean and no sharp blades to cut anyone.Im a guy who loves to bake and and I go to great lengths to find the right tool to to a job.This is the right to to make pastry.Dont mess with the fix steel blades that are sharp and difficult to clean...

Have had this for a while, but really haven't used it enough to recommend it. For someone who only uses a pastry blender once in a while its OK.
