I was tired of the hassle of putting foil strips over my pie edges to keep them from getting too dark. I tried the lightweight foil guards--they worked ok, but got bent up when I stored them. I read the reviews on silicone pie guards and people seemed to like them, the only problem being that they might be a bit small for the larger piepans. I ordered 4 of the 10 inch Anderson Pie shields. I got free shipping and the deal was-buy 4 get one free. They worked great! They also fit my large glass Pyrex pie dishes perfectly. Other reviewers noted that pie shield should be one inch wider in diameter than the pie pan, so I ordered the 10 inch size rather than the 9 inch and it works good. My pie pans also have medal handles so I cut slits in the pie shield for each handle to accommodate.

I bought this for this year's Thanksgiving. Used it on my pie's with a lot of success. Kept them from getting dark just as it said it would. Love it! Now, I need to get a couple more for multiple bakings.
